A house with history

Jacob Hansens Hus It dates back to the 17th century and is one of the few buildings in Helsingborg that remain from before the Scania War. The house was built as a manor house for the councilman Jacob Hansen and his wife Inger Mogensdotter, with the year 1641 inscribed above the entrance.

The city of Helsingborg purchased the house in 1914 and between 1929 and 1930 a comprehensive restoration was carried out. In connection with the work, the large assembly hall was also created, which today is known as the Blue Hall, with Hugo Gehlins ceiling paintings depicting the history of Helsingborg. The house has since continued to be used as a venue for meetings and events.
